- What's your name?
Xicalli Eli Garcia
- What is your role working for HOI/How long have you worked for HOI?
My roles are store manager for three locations (North Hollywood, Sherman Oaks and Santa Monica), visual display for all the stores and a new project to show more love into our team is our employee appreciation gifts. I started as a part-time gatekeeper at the North Hollywood location back in 2019. I was rehired after the covid shut down as a full time employee in May 2020. You can say I have had a solid 2 years working for HOI.
- What makes you feel empowered working for HOI?
When working the store front I enjoy the downtime to connect with clients. Gatekeepers and clients can make meaningful connections here at HOI. The client affirms to me that I am on the right path as I listen and advise what "can" be done about the situation they are in, but ultimately the choice is always theirs. Those moments remind me why I fell in love with the store. It supports my soul journey and allows me to fully express my true self which is to help and uplift one another. When I have uplifting conversations with a fellow team member or client that transcend the mundane world it elevates my being. You can say the power of love supports my role here at HOI. Love for all!
- What is your favorite HOI ritual tool?
I find myself using the intention Anointing Oil that our healer Ryan makes. I bounce between the Peaks of Victory oil and the Pathway Keys oil. I feel like it's important to set an intention for the day ahead. It gives me some control and most importantly strength for what may come. When using the peaks of victory oil, I rub some oil on my hands, forming an imaginary royal crown between my hands and let the energy build. I then set the crown on my head and say "Allow me to be the victor of MY day for the entire day". This allows me to find my inner strength, lead my team and feel accomplished for the day.
- What's your mantra when you need extra strength?
I am more of a physical person (Aries AF) so, a nice flow of yoga helps me align my physical and spiritual body. As I struggle through the moves and push myself to then whisper "I can do it. I am strong. I am stable".
- BONUS: Any story you care to share about something manifesting in your life by using HOI ritual tools? :)
I work endlessly with my ancestors to honor and understand the sacrifices they made for me. The first candle I received was an Honor Your Ancestor Magic Candle and it's a candle I swear by today. Every full moon I cleanse and restock the offerings on my ancestor altar. The offerings are connected to my culture (Mexican) so I have Mexican sweet bread, coffee, Mexican candy, tequila and fruits. I place pictures of my passed loved ones and light the honor your ancestor candle. The candle allows you to write a specific name on it and I write "the ancestors of the known and of the unknown". I give my love, gratitude, and appreciation as I kneel down to pray. As the day passes and the candle burns I light a HOI incense every day to continue the blessings.

My favorite HOI ritual tool is our Fe Ocan Incense Blend. It smells amazing and I love that there is a process to lighting it with charcoal. It makes it more intimate and intentional in my daily practice :)
