Welcome to the second lunar event of the summer! For the past three weeks, we have been swimming in some of the deepest waters of our psyche, connecting with our feminine and family heritage. Cancer is the sign of the Divine Mother; a Water sign whose job is to store all the experiences that we have accumulated along our soul’s journey and the cosmic imprint stored in our ancestral DNA. The energy of the zodiac sign Cancer remembers, beyond this lifetime and many generations into our past.
As we enter the last days of Cancer season, we welcome this July’s full moon, the first full moon of the summer, which rises in the sky on Wednesday, July 13th at 11:38 a.m. Pacific Time. This Full Moon manifests in the stern sign of Capricorn, brimming with intensity. Since the sign of the Goat is not a comfortable placement for the Moon, it will be normal to feel a little bit “out of sorts.” In this case, it will help to practice self-care and have a slower pace of life.
Astrologically, this lunation carries a very deep meaning, as the luminaries will be forming a rare configuration in the sky called a Kite, which involves a total of seven planetary bodies in the sky. In 2022, this is only the second time a Kite is formed in the sky, and its effects could have a further reach than a regular Full Moon would.
This rare Kite brings an energy of fluidity that allows for our intuition to reach new levels of awareness. Its influence is highly psychic, as it unites the three zodiac signs of watery nature (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) in a perfect symphony of divine feminine energy. It thins the veil so we can connect with our ancestors—and especially, the women who played the role of mothers, due to Ceres, the asteroid of the nurturing mother, being involved.
Its energetic imprint creates the ideal terrain for us to connect with them in the spirit of forgiveness, healing, and acceptance. Exactly around the time of this full moon, spend some time meditating, writing letters, and talking to the women in your life that have passed. The biggest gift this Full Moon delivers is the ability to heal the past, so we can then move with more confidence into the future.
