The most beautiful time of the year to create an ancestral altar is here! Always occurring during Scorpio season, the November 1 Día de los Muertos celebration is our strongest reminder of our sacred connection to our lineage. In 2025, the ancestral work we’re called to do comes in two parts. Venus in Libra opposite Chiron in Aries speaks of a deep need for healing any of the grief, loss, or pain connected to the stories of our people. By focusing on purposedly activating healing, the floodgates of abundance pour over us as the Pisces Moon activates this year’s blessings connected to the once-every-twelve-year transit of Jupiter in Cancer. If you’re ready to activate ancestral healing and abundance, the ritual below is for you.
GATHER your tools: You will need the Día de los Muertos Magic Candle, the Ancestral Blessing Anointing Oil, marigolds, pictures of your ancestors, matches, and a bowl with water.
Venus opposite Chiron: Healing with Water
PREPARE your altar with photos of your ancestors as you repeat the mantra: “On this sacred Day of the Dead, I open the door to connection, healing, and abundance.”
ANOINT your wrists and heart with the Ancestral Blessing Anointing Oil. As you do, whisper the names of loved ones you wish to honor.
HOLD the bowl of water in your hands and speak into it - release any pain, grief, or wounds you feel are carried from your lineage. Imagine the water absorbing these emotions, softening them with compassion.
PLACE the bowl on your altar. Dip your fingers into the water and touch your heart, inviting in healing for yourself and your lineage.
Grand Water Trine: Calling in Abundance
As the sacred element of water holds your healing, turn toward abundance.
LIGHT the Día de los Muertos Magic Candle. As the flame rises, visualize it transforming the water’s energy - shifting sorrow into strength, wounds into wisdom, and pain into possibility.
SPEAK aloud your gratitude to those who came before you. Then, name the abundance you wish to call into your life - love, creativity, prosperity, or joy - knowing you are supported by your lineage.
ANOINT the candle with a drop of the Ancestral Blessing Oil as a symbolic offering, sealing your request.
CLOSE the ritual by placing the marigolds around the candle and whispering: “Through healing, I open the way for abundance to flow.”
Let the candle burn safely as long as you wish, carrying your prayers to the spirit world.
