Rejoice! February’s arrival means we’re now crossing the portal to the other side of Winter. Imbolc - a pagan holiday that honors the awakening of Earth towards the Spring - has been celebrated since the tenth century. You might now begin noticing warmer temperatures and nature beginning to give signs of new life. While the beginning of spring doesn't arrive until mid-March, the light is slowly starting to return, and your spirit begins to awaken.
Energetically speaking, it has been a colder winter than most due to the retrograde of Mars, which started on December 6. While we still have one-third of this potent retrograde to go (ends on February 23), we’re in a more positive mindset as we receive the growing light of the fortunate January 29 Aquarius New Moon. This lunar event carried the sweet vibrations of the planet Jupiter, which is scheduled to wake up from its four-month retrograde next week, on February 4. Iris Imbolc Ritual
GATHER your items: You will need fresh Iris flowers, sage or palo santo, the House of Intuition Abundance Candle, and the House of Intuition Abundant Wellspring Oil.
PREPARE your space by cleansing the area you chose for the ritual with Sage or Palo Santo, next arrange the Iris as a centerpiece, reflecting nature's awakening.
ADD the manifestation oil to your candle as you imagine yourself attracting abundance, renewal, and light into your life.
ANOINT your higher chakras (throat, third eye, and crown) with the oil, from bottom to top as you visualize yourself like nature and the flowers, beginning to bloom.
HOLD one of the Iris flowers in both of your hands as you begin a flower meditation, contemplating its natural beauty as you visualize your dormant winter dreams manifesting over the season ahead.
FEEL gratitude for all the beautiful things that are already happening in your life, especially concerning the simple things that might be overlooked.
CLOSE the ritual by scattering some of the Iris petals in the four corners of your home.
While Imbolc is celebrated on Sunday, February 2, this ritual can be performed anytime before March 20. Two other powerful dates are Tuesday, February 4, and Sunday, February 9, February 12, and February 23.
