As we enter the third week of May, we are still under the beams of the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio. As happens after every Full Moon, the energy will begin to decrease, bringing an opportune time for releasing. Over the days ahead, our sacred luminaries will be requesting that we perform a big clean-up, physically and emotionally. It’s basically a spring-cleaning of the soul, which is not only fitting for the current astrological weather, but also the season.
As the Moon decreases in light and form, we are also being asked to empty our hearts, while embracing the changes that have been taking place in our lives. Of course, it’s only normal to want to hold on to the past—after all, the Sun is still in Taurus, arguably the most stubborn of all signs. Taurus season has been quite eventful, and we might even have a hard time believing everything that has taken place over the last few weeks. However, this week’s astrology reminds us that the past is exactly that, and the future holds more excitement ahead.
A big shift in energy occurs on Friday, May 20th at exactly 6:23 p.m. when the Sun makes its annual entrance into Gemini, the Sign of the Twins. This solar movement will feel like a breath of fresh air, and will bring a welcomed change in energy (yes, even with Mercury being in retrograde). With this movement of the Sun, we say buh-bye to Eclipse Season, while also welcoming the influence of one of the most lighthearted zodiac signs of all.
As an archetype, Gemini is the Sign of Duality, the sign that better explains the relationship between the opposing forces within the universe. As the Chamaeleon of the Zodiac, Gemini brings us the opportunity to integrate the many different parts of ourselves that sometimes feel at odds with each other.
